To enroll as a new student, the parent and the student should start at the
Guidance and Counseling Office. Call for an appointment at (319) 688-1053.
Bring the materials listed below and be prepared to spend one to two hours
here. You will complete registration forms in the guidance office for placement
testing and an interview with your new guidance counselor. In most situations
you will be able to start classes on the following day. Good luck!
Requirements for Enrollment

A parent/guardian* must accompany the student to the guidance office. Every new student will be given an HLS (Home Language Survey).
- Proof of residence (Bring any 1 of the 4 items)
- Driver's license
- 2 bills with address
- Lease contract
- Purchase agreement for home or condo
- Placement test in English and mathematics by appointment with the
Guidance secretary.
- If applicable, the most recent I.E.P. or 504 or special accommodation copies.
Please Also Bring:
- Unofficial or official transcript from previous school
- Withdrawal grades from previous school
- Immunization record
- Name and Address of last school attended
- Money for West High School fees
