Welcome to the Job Opportunities web page for the Iowa City Community School District (ICCSD)! The district covers 130 square miles and serves the communities of Iowa City, Coralville, Hills, North Liberty, University Heights, and the surrounding rural areas. The school district employs over 1,600 people and operates on a budget of seventy million dollars. It is the fifth largest school district in the state of Iowa and the second largest employer in the Iowa City community area.

Job applicants must complete an electronic application and attach all necessary documents in order to apply for a specific position.
Job applicants interested in substituting, please click here for more information on substitute teaching job applications.
Applicants with complete files will be screened by an administrator, according to established criteria. An interview team will select the successful candidate for hire.
Job applicants who currently have application materials on file in the ICCSD Human Resource (HR) Office may pick up these materials M-F, between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please note that all paper applications will be shredded July 1, 2009.
The advantages for job applicants of our online job application process include the following:
- Job applicant's ability to control job application data, including the ability to update job application data whenever necessary (24/7/365).
- Job applicant's ability to select the position(s) for which one wishes to apply with the click of a button. Applicant's information will automatically be forwarded to the person in charge of selecting candidates for interview.
- Notification of the status of job applicant's application via e-mail.
- NOTE: The new online job application system processis e-mail driven. If job applicant's e-mail address changes, then job applicant must update e-mail address in the application or job applicant will not receive electronic status notification from the ICCSD HR Office.
- If job applicant does not have an e-mail address, job applicant can still apply for job openings, but will not receive any electronic status notification from the ICCSD HR Office.
