PSTO Annual Fundraiser -
WEST HIGH STAFF AND STUDENT DIRECTORY
|
The annual Student and Staff Directory is produced and sold by the West High PSTO. Directories cost $5 and the proceeds are used to support academics and student activities at West High School. The 2009-2010 Student Directory can be purchased in the West High office and will also be available during Parent Teacher Conferences. Get your copy while supplies last.
The West High PSTO (Parent Student Teacher Organization) welcomes ALL parents, students and teachers as members. Each year the West PSTO works to keep parents informed and serves the school's staff and students in many ways.
STAFF APPRECIATION is shown through meals and refreshments served before parent/teacher conferences and on staff in-service days. Donations of food and money help the PSTO offer this small token of appreciation to the staff for all they do for our students.
PARENT VOLUNTEERS are provided through the PSTO each year to do everything from proctor exams and chaperone field trips to register students and plant trees on campus.
ANNUAL PSTO ART SHOW held in December recognizes and showcases the many talented art students at West High.
INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS for parents on a wide range of topics are sponsored each year by the PSTO and offered during monthly meetings and occasional evening presentations.
STAFF WISH LIST purchases are made each spring with donations from parents and the proceeds from the annual PSTO sponsored Student and Staff Directory sale. This past year (2008-2009) the PSTO funded the following:
-
Chemistry Refrigerator
-
Graphing Calculators for Math
-
SSIKE Cultural Competency Programming
-
Camp Courageous Donation
-
LCD Projector for Social Studies
-
Laptop for Biotech Engineering Classes
-
Dollars for Scholars Donation
-
"Dance Dance Revolution" for Physical Education
-
Kitchen Aid Mixers for Family and Consumer Science
-
DPO Scholarship and Annual Dues
-
Non-Teaching Staff Appreciation Gift Certificates
Over the past few years, the West PSTO has found it difficult to meet the growing list of requests for support from the staff. As the number of students grows, the number of needs increases.
Consider a donation to the West PSTO today to help us support our students and teachers! Please send your contributions made payable to West High PSTO, 2901 Melrose Avenue, Iowa City, IA 52246. Thank you!
