The Parent-Student-Teacher Organization (PSTO) is a significant group at South East. Parents volunteer in many capacities such as writing and mailing a newsletter, chaperoning student activities, presenting a student/parent workshop, helping with fall registration, planning and implementing fund raising through magazine sales, furnishing food, and hosting several functions.

MAGAZINE FUNDRAISER
The South East Magazine Sale (our one and only fund raising event!) takes place in October each year. During this period, students offer magazine subscriptions to friends and family in order to earn prizes and raise money for South East fine arts, athletics and special events.

During the 2004 sale, students sold subscriptions with gross sales of $90,000.00. Of that amount, $38,220.00 stayed at South East where it was used for things like laboratory equipment, art supplies, sheet music, and transportation for South East teams and clubs.

The PSTO would like to remind parents to renew their current subscriptions during the Magazine Sale. Your favorite subscriptions can be renewed during this sale even if they were not originally ordered through South East, resulting in savings for you and revenue for the school! Simply attach your re-order form to our QSP order form to ensure uninterrupted delivery at the lowest available price.

BOX TOPS for EDUCATION at SOUTHEAST JUNIOR HIGH

Clip Box Tops coupons from hundreds of participating General Mills products and send them to our school.  Our school gets 10 cents for each one it sends to General Mills-up to $20,000 each school year.  Making a difference has never been easier!

South East began saving BTE (Box Tops for Education) in 2001.  Thus far we have raised over $700.  This money has been earmarked by our PSTO for outdoor school improvements, including new landscaping and eventually a lighted, changeable sign for our school grounds.
 
YOU CAN HELP!!!  Save all of your BTE from General Mills products and turn them into the collection box in the SEJH main office.  Parent and student volunteers help cut, count and bundle them to be sent in twice a year in November and March.
