COURSE TITLE: Personal Development 7

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Personal Development 7 is designed to assist students with the transition from elementary school to junior high school. This course will give the student information to formulate opinions and to help make healthy decisions to implement in his/her life.

AREAS OF STUDY:
Mental Health--human needs, behavior, emotions, personality, stress management, suicide prevention, self confidence, identity, decision making
Social Health--relationships, communication skills, peer pressure, consumer awareness, violence/anger prevention
Physical Health--substance abuse prevention, puberty

STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO:
Apply related skills
Get satisfactory marks on tests
Participate in class discussion
Complete homework assignments
Take effective notes
Participate in outside reading (book report) & current events

LENGTH: One tri

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Personal Development 8 is designed to assist students with decisions they will make as young adults. This course will teach students different methods and approaches to making healthy decisions while developing a healthy lifestyle. The objective for each student is to become a critical evaluator when examining the issues and influences of society and outside pressures in the choices and decisions they make about their health.
