COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course is intended to establish and/or strengthen students' understanding of mathematical concepts. Experiences with manipulative, where appropriate, will create clearer mental images to represent abstract ideas. Students should be involved in activities which require the choice of using estimation, mental computation, or paper/pencil to arrive at a solution. Problem solving will be an integral part of the students' mathematical experiences.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students in Math 7 will use mathematical skills to solve a variety of problems that have real-life application. The following areas will be emphasized.

COURSE TITLE: Pre-Algebra 7
PREREQUISITE: Teacher recommendation and taking placement test
LENGTH: Full year


COURSE DESCRIPTION: Pre-Algebra 7 is for those students who have already demonstrated the ability to accurately compute with whole numbers, fractions and decimals, and their problem solving skills are highly developed. This is an accelerated math course which, upon successful completion, will prepare the student for the study of algebra.

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Algebra is considered the basic language of mathematics that provides the foundation for continued study of mathematics. Students will understand and use mathematical relationships to solve a variety of problems related to the real world. Students will become familiar with using graphing tools to visualize mathematical relationships. Purchase of a scientific calculator by each student is strongly recommended.
