COURSE DESCRIPTION: Today's students must understand modern technological concepts, be knowledgeable of potential career choices and become skilled at effective problem solving. This course exposes students to various forms of technology utilized in the work environment. Students rotate through units in ten-day intervals using videotapes, textbooks, computer software and practical hands-on activities.

COURSE TITLE: Introduction to Flight
PREREQUISITE: None
LENGTH: One tri

COURSE DESCRIPTION: We are increasingly aware of the use of our air space and the implications in our daily lives. Air travel is becoming more common as part of our lives. Production and consumption of aviation and space technology have rapidly become a major part of the US economy and industrial technological development. Content for study and activities will provide the student with additional insight into the world of flight.

COURSE TITLE: Power and Energy
PREREQUISITE: None
LENGTH: One tri

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students will be introduced to energy and power sources with application in our lives. Studies and activities may involve students with simple machines, small gas engines, electricity and solar and alternative energy. Content of the course will be drawn from a variety of areas, some of which are listed below.

COURSE TITLE: Wood Construction & Manufacturing
PREREQUISITE: None
LENGTH: One tri

COURSE DESCRIPTION: Students will have an opportunity to study characteristics of materials, their processing, fabrication and finishing in group and/or individual activities. The student will become involved with problem-solving situations related to planning, design and organization through the developmental production of a product. While wood products will be the main material involved, others may be used when appropriate to the activity or product. Special emphasis during the course will be on safety and appropriate use of materials/equipment.
