COURSE TITLE: Volunteer GRADE LEVEL: 8
PREREQUISITE: None
LENGTH: Trimester

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The volunteer program will provide the student with training in the concepts of volunteer work. Students will be assigned work sites with a staff supervisor.

AREAS OF STUDY:
Students gain information on the world of work & experience on a job site
Students are provided with the opportunity to do volunteer work
Students develop skills in building a positive self-concept

STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO:
Report daily to volunteer site Attend class sessions as scheduled
Fulfill expectations of their volunteer site supervisor
Approach his/her work as a responsible individual
Maintain a journal in which they write about the volunteering experience
