Planning Process
- Student: Take Interest Explorer on ITBS during October testing
- Junior High Counselor: Receive ITBS Counselor report with Interest Explorer and academic information; share with student and parent
- Student: Receive high school Program of Studies, review with parents
- Junior and Senior High School Counselors: Review High School Program of Studies, discuss career options and components of required Student Core Curriculum Plan (school day presentation) and parent (evening presentation)
- Student: Develop Student Core Curriculum Plan with parent(s); begin completion (fill in 9th grade) of Four Year High School Course Work chart with parent(s); student and parent sign plan and returns to school
- Student: Take ITED during October testing
- High School Counselor: Share predicted SAT and ACT scores with student
- Teachers: Share information about courses on academic planning day
- Teachers and Counselors: Engage students in lessons about DISCOVER program; explore career options and post-secondary opportunities
- Student: Receive high school Program of Studies, review with parents along with Student Core Curriculum Plan and Four Year High School Course Work chart
- High School Counselor: Review Program of Studies, discuss career options and components or required plan with students (school day presentation) and parents (evening presentation)
- Student: Review Student Core Curriculum Plan, meet with counselor as needed, discuss plan with parent(s), revise plan as needed
