COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course employs a variety of two and three dimensional media. Exploration and experimentation of media, student ideas, and visual images is encouraged. Critical thought and creative problem solving will be employed in learning new skills, concepts, and techniques, and expanding on those already acquired. Students will share their work as well as discuss styles, movements and techniques as they relate to contemporary and historical artists. Creativity, the language of art, and vocabulary are applied in all aspects of the course.

STUDIO ART I, II, III

CATEGORY: Fine Arts Elective

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is divided into units of study based on the foundation of the seventh grade Art (Visual Studies course). Part of this course of study will be individualized in that students may select areas for exploration. Refinement of concepts, skills, techniques and processes, and creative expression will be emphasized within each unit. Inventive, creative, and experimental solutions will be required to fulfill assignments in 2-D and 3-D problem solving. This course is designed for students with motivation and interest in continuing to explore media and art in general. Art history will be incorporated when appropriate.
