About Our Library
The purpose of the Horace Mann Library Media Center is to enable all students to become effective users of information and to appreciate and enjoy literature.
Every Horace Mann student, including preschool, participates in a weekly 25-minute class where they come for literature and check-out. Upper and Intermediate students also have flex time for technology and information-seeking skills. Instruction in choosing a "just right" book is provided. Students know a book is "just right" if they:

are interested in the book

can read & understand the book

will finish the book
Check Out Rules
Books may be checked-out for one week, with the option to renew. A replacement cost will be assessed for lost and damaged materials. Overdue notices will be sent home with students once a month. Students are not allowed to check out additional books until overdue materials are returned. Thank you in advance for helping your child be responsible.
Checkout limits per grade level are as follows:
