Dear Family,

In Unit 3 of our music curriculum, we will sing many familiar nursery rhymes and fold songs.  Several of them include singing games that reinforce concepts such as keeping a steady beat, staying on pitch, and playing rhythm instruments.

As student enjoy the songs, they will also practice counting, spelling out a very important word (please), echoing words, and moving as directed by song lyrics.  They will experience songs in English, Spanish, and Korean.

To reinforce our music lessons, encourage your child to teach you the musical games and songs we are learning.  Ask questions about what he or she is learning, and enjoy playing the games together.

Your family might have favorite songs that you enjoy singing.  Now is a good time to have fun with those songs as well.  When you move and sing together fun is nonstop!
